MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF CCRWD#2
The regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Rural Water District No. 2 of Cass County, Nebraska was held at 108 So. 4th Street, Elmwood, Nebraska on the 9th day of Februray 2023 at 7:30 p.m. Present were Don Edwards, John Wagoner, Ted Retzlaff, Bill Ross, Martha Rhoades, Kiel Lawrence, Assistant Manager Troy Callaway, and Manager Mark Hogue. Not in attendance Travis Isaacs
Notice of the meeting was given in advance thereof by newspaper publication and posting at the District Office, two of the designated methods of giving notice, as shown by the Affidavit of Publication (Certificate of Posting Notice) attached to these minutes. Notice of this meeting and an agenda were emailed to the Chairman and all members of the Board and are attached to the minutes. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public.
Chairman Don Edwards called the meeting to order at 7:31 p.m. and he announced the open meetings act is posted on the wall in the office
January Meeting Minutes approved as distributed. No corrections
Treasurer’s Report: Motion to approve treasurer’s report by Martha -2nd Ted, Roll Call Vote – Motion approved 6-0.
Assistant Manager’s Report – Troy Callaway – Troy has been working on locates, Took monthly routine samples and Checked and recorded chlorine residual everyday. Took PFAS samples. Read meters on 1-24-23. We will have to rebore a 6” water main on 112th St between A and O streets.
Office Report – 6 customers on the late list that will be sent a reminder if not paid by the 15th. Customer bills went out on 1-25-23.
Manager’s Report – Mark Hogue –
OLD BUSINESS
Letter with new rate schedule sent out by mail this week. (letter already sent to email billing customers with the bills in January) and a notification was on all bills last month.
Copper and Lead Rule regulations and service inventory. Project is 96% complete with just a few forms left as of 2/6/23.
Nothing new. Test well agreement Mickle Farms from Alan Wood.
Job posted for new water operator on Indeed for the new water operator position. Posting went op February 6th.
NEW BUSINESS
Mark is working with Sargent and Microcomm to correct flow meter readings on SCADA.
District truck update. Latest option is to keep both trucks and keep monitoring consider trading in the future.
Mark will take 100,000 from checking and start a new CD. He will check with local banks for the best rate.
