MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF CCRWD#2
The regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Rural Water District No. 2 of Cass County, Nebraska was held at 108 So. 4th Street, Elmwood, Nebraska on the 13th day of January 2022 at 7:30 p.m. Present were Don Edwards, John Wagoner, Ted Retzlaff, Bill Ross, Travis Isaacs, Eric Towle, Assistant Manager Troy Callaway, Manager Mark Hogue. Martha Rhoades not in attendance

Notice of the meeting was given in advance thereof by newspaper publication and posting at the District Office, two of the designated methods of giving notice, as shown by the Affidavit of Publication (Certificate of Posting Notice) attached to these minutes. Notice of this meeting and an agenda were emailed to the Chairman and all members of the Board and are attached to the minutes. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public.

Chairman Don Edwards called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and he announced the open meetings act is posted on the wall in the office.
December Meeting Minutes approved as distributed.
Treasurer’s Report: Motion to receive treasurer’s report made by John – 2nd Eric, Roll Call Vote – Motion approved 6-0. No additional discussion on the Treasurer’s Report.

Assistant Manager’s Report – Troy Callaway – Bored two new services, Bored new section of 6” main under a driveway on C Rd. Did samples for the month. Almost done Installing new MIU’s on C Rd. Completed the yearly pumping records for state records. The district pumped 99,297,000 gallons of water in 2021.

Office Report –2 customers on the late list and will be sent reminders if not paid by the 15th. Customer bills went out on 12-29-21

OLD BUSINESS

Change the way the district bills for someone hitting our main if it was not called in for a locate? (Keep as old business)
We have had two contractors look at the 6” Water main exposed at the creek crossing on Hwy 43. This is the line that feeds the Woodland Hills area. To solve issue Kerns used extra dirt from the C road project to cover the water main for the winter

NEW BUSINESS
Alan Wood drafted a letter on services not being used on C road. Mark will contact owners of services before sending the letter.
Annual Dinner will be at the Quonset on Friday March llth.
Cyber security notice from Clements Ins. Agency. The district has coverage until 4-1-22. Mark will work with the Insurance office on future insurance options. Such as a new company, what premiums might be and coverages offered.
Discussion of future growth of the water district.
