MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF CCRWD#2
The regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Rural Water District No. 2 of Cass County, Nebraska was held at 108 So. 4th Street, Elmwood, Nebraska on the 10th day of February 2022 at 7:30 p.m. Present were Don Edwards, John Wagoner, Ted Retzlaff, Bill Ross, Martha Rhoades, Eric Towle, Assistant Manager Troy Callaway, Manager Mark Hogue. Travis Isaacs not in attendance
Notice of the meeting was given in advance thereof by newspaper publication and posting at the District Office, two of the designated methods of giving notice, as shown by the Affidavit of Publication (Certificate of Posting Notice) attached to these minutes. Notice of this meeting and an agenda were emailed to the Chairman and all members of the Board and are attached to the minutes. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public.
Chairman Don Edwards called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and he announced the open meetings act is posted on the wall in the office.
January Meeting Minutes approved as distributed.
Treasurer’s Report: Motion to receive treasurer’s report made by John – 2nd Eric, Roll Call Vote – Motion approved 6-0.
Assistant Manager’s Report – Troy Callaway – Jan 18th I did our routine samples for the month which came back good. I went to class on the 20th for credit hours for my license. We read meters on the 25th. Feb 3rd did routine samples for the month which came back good. On the 8th Gordon electric came out to tower #1 to put a new electric panel in and seal the water from coming in the panel and pit and ran a new cat5 cord to the leg of the tower for the internet hook up so it can be ran off the internet also as a backup. On the 9th Gordon electric came back out to finish the project. Also have been doing locates,mail and other jobs that may come up while staying warm
Office Report –2 customers on the late list and will be sent reminders if not paid by the 15th. Customer bills went out on 1-26-22

Changes in the way we bill for someone hitting our main if it was not called in for a locate? Mark is working with Alan Wood on this.
Annual Dinner will be Friday March 11th 6:00pm @ Quonset.
Long term plan for the district is to focus on existing customers and services.
Board talked about the potential of how Lincoln’s 2050 growth plan can affects the district.
NEW BUSINESS
New meters in Murdock. Would we read meters and do billing for them? No action taken just information shared at this time.
Cross connection forms. 85% Must be completed by all customers by end of 2022.
Copper and Lead Rule regulations and service inventory.
Summer employee. Is Luke still available? Mark is checking on options.
CCRD2 annual audit beginning February 14th 2022. This will be completed by Lengemann and Associates.
